It's interesting, that last bit about a kid on acid is quoted by David Icke.  He also mentions the choice between love and hate/fear, from this video.  I've heard that all emotions go back to those two basic emotions, love vs. fear (also known as hate).  And, it's always a choice which one we want.

I've never been much of an entertainment person, so I don't know to much about comedians and such.
My dear old mom used to say that "many a true word were said in jest". Perhaps his death was untimely or maybe he came a little to close to the truth for some. Maybe even stepped on some toes that he shouldn't have and paid the price...

I was introduced to Bill Hicks in conspiracy forums.    After that I found all the videos of him I could.  There is a documentary out there talking to friends of his.  I don't think there was anything suspicious about his death, he had pancreatic cancer.  But, he died in his early 30's.  At the time he was an up an coming comedian who could have been as great as George Carlin, in my opinion.

I think your Mom was right.  What better way to deal with the ills of the world than to make jokes?  I've heard the comedians are generally the most cynical people you'll ever meet.  I think many of them see how fucked up the world is and drink and joke a lot to try to deal with it.

Thanks again for turning me on to this guy, it seems a little anticlimactic since he moved on almost 20 years ago, but his stuff is still valid today. 
I can see how things like this can make you think, not so very long ago I was saying just let it go. He pointed out how close minded that attitude can be in his "just let Jesus go" line. Not that I'm not capable of letting the Jesus thing go, but I got his point.
I'm trying hard not to condemn others for there beliefs but I sometimes find myself thinking "that was a good one" when others beliefs are shown to be foolish in some way. Like the Dinosaur thing, I have had that very same discussion with a person I know who professes to be a good practicing Christian. Carbon dating is immediately dismissed by this person. I would be wrong, if I said, that I know carbon dating to be infallible. I'm not a scientist but I do understand the basic principle behind it, and it seems logical to me.

 Anyway. Today I learned something new, my views changed a bit on something old and I made a new friend.  All is good in my world . Many thanks again.

I used to have friends who were Jehovah's Witnesses.  They believed the same dinosaur thing, that God is running around hiding the bones to test faith.  We used to argue a lot.

But, I also really respect them.  They were one of the few Christian couples who actually practiced what they preached.  It was that dinosaur thing and the flood thing they believed we used to argue about.  They believed that there used to be an atmosphere of water that surrounded the earth.  Somehow it broke and that is what caused the flood.  Then again, the husband also believed 20 years ago, in the NWO.  I argued against that at the time too.

Funny you mention the "Witnesses" I live in Auburn, N.Y. which is just a few miles from HQ. In Union Springs.

I couldn't agree with you more, I have the most respect for anyone who practices what they preach, so to say. I envy and admire your open mindedness, I still have some trepidation when it comes to religious folks. I have more recently tried to be a little more accepting of the possibilities that there is at least a small amount of fact in some of the Bible tales.
As far as the flood thing, I'm not sure and beg to question, but would there not be some record in the 30,000 year old Arctic ice?
I mean no disrespect, but when you can prove on the most fundamental level that the layers in the ice are like the rings in a tree showing one season to the next, and that you are able to count back 30,000 and more, where does the flood fit in? Wouldn't that show up some where? Or was Antarctica exempt from the effects of this world wide flood?

On a lighter note I believe that the Arc was a giant DNA lab and that's how they were able to get all the animals on board. And why did he have bring the damn Mosquito's!

Well...nursery rhymes tend to have truth in them, history really.  "Ring around the rosey, pocket full of posey, ashes, ashes, we all fall down", was about the black plague.  Humpty dumpty was about a real king, etc.  It is possible that the stories you read in the Bible may too have their origins in actual history.  The same goes with the Greek and Roman mythologies.  I have to say "what if?" to all these stories.  I don't know.

Good question.  I don't know the answer.  I'm also neither a Christian or a scientist.  However, both christians and scientists have lied.  Recently, there was the lie of global warming that showed scientists lying and came out in carbon-gate.  A christian pastor made up the mythology surrounding George Washington and "I cannot tell a lie, I chopped down the cherry tree".  That is an utter fabrication, by the way.  I've heard that many cultures talk of a drastic flood, but I have never read the actual stories.  Then, from the science side, I hear that the earth cyclically goes from warming to cooling.  Is it possible that 30,000 years ago we were in a warming cycle and maybe the ice poles weren't ice at the time?

  Mosquitoes aren't native to the US.  They came with the slave trade in the barrels of water they had to carry on the ships.

I think it would be really cool if the Biblical flood tales were proven to be right. Because we know that at a point in our distant history water levels indeed were different in relation to land mass.  It's that point of our history that makes it intriguing.
If there were humans around to record those water levels, and we can reasonably scientifically date those water levels (by fossil record and Geology), that would suggest to me that we have been around a lot longer then we think. 

Maybe the flood occurred at the time of Pangea !
