I think it would be really cool if the Biblical flood tales were proven to be right.

There were floods around the Mediterranean some time in the past which almost completely wiped out mankind around the Mediterranean, I can’t remember when though. It was cause by the land bridge between Spain and Morocco collapsing or being over ran by a huge tsunami, I can’t remember which; I think something like 4/5 of the Mediterranean population were killed.

It was a very long time ago though, I think it was back in the Upper Paeolithic (spelt wrong).

I seem to recall something to that effect as well, perhaps as a result of a volcanic eruption. Maybe the land bridge was formed by a volcano. I feel as though I'm coming out of a fog and that what I had been taught in school was so very wrong... John Anthony West theorizes that the erosion around the wall of the Sphinx could only have been created by rain and that that amount of rainfall has not taken place in the desert region of Egypt in 10's of thousands of years.
That being said that erosion took place after the building of the Sphinx placing the building time period back maybe 25,000 years or more. 
Maybe the first signs of written language were around 5125 years ago that sounds vaguely familiar, humm ....
