Websites using my old google searches?
« on: October 14, 2009, 01:13:07 PM »

OK, this was weird.  I just did a google search for emoticons for another post.  I didn't use one.  But, I scrolled down to the bottom of this website with free emoticons here: http://www.tech-faq.com/free-emoticons.shtml and it asked "Are you looking for the puerto rico cancer experiment?"  The Puerto rico cancer experiment has nothing to do with emoticons and is something I searched on weeks ago after I learned of it.  Go ahead and look it up yourself.

I've attached a screen shot of the bottom of the website.

Are websites randomly searching saved searches for marketing purposes?  If so, this one is really ineffective.  Unless they're trying to sell me cancer.

I get that sometimes on other websites as well. For the last few weeks I’ve been using a search-engine called `bing` and since then it hasn’t happened so much. It must be something to do with google. :-\

bing comes from the borg.

Alex Jones advertises one on his site.  I'm going to have to listen to him to find out what it is.

Yeah, it took a while, but I was be-bopping around elsewhere too.  But, I've got it now.  ;D

I haven't tried it yet, but we'll see how it does.

google still brings back more entries and I haven't figured out how to post the videos yet.  They all go to this site: http://www.blinkx.com, even if they're originally found on youtube.
