Basic trading/bartering is illegal in the US if too many people are involved.  A person in the US who uses anything other than the illegal federal reserve's currency to trade will go to prison if caught.

Speaking of living off the land, I just started reading a book about survival.  It's called, "Tom Brown's Survival Guides" by Tom Brown, Jr with Brandt Morgan.  I picked it up a while ago at a used book store.  It's really good so far.  He makes an interesting point about what is most important when finding yourself in a situation where you have to survive.  He says the most important thing is shelter, not food.  You can live for days without food, but you can die within hours of hypothermia if you don't have shelter.  So number one is shelter, number two is water, but water can be gotten from the dew in the morning.

I've heard of this guy.  I guess it makes for interesting TV.

The Natives have been doing this for years.  The old school Natives do anyway.  They just don't often share that information with us white folks.

He’s good because he doesn’t fuck about like others. He’s spent loads of time with the Australian Aborigines and others of that sort.

Well some of it. He teaches/taught in the Army as well I think. In recent years he’s been going to Canada a lot. In his early days it was Africa though.
