That's the whole objective, to achieve a stillness, where you don't think about anything, you don't desire to think about anything, you just live in that specific moment and take that moment for what it is. No thinking about what about after, or the things that happened before.

It's hard, it's easier said than done. Sometimes I can do it, you know, after something pisses me off, I'll go out and walk around, find a spot along the beach or something, or just climb up on my roof to be alone and try. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

I just find it so hard to switch off you have no idea. My idea of `switching off` is thinking about one thing; just having one thought in my head is somewhat relaxing to me. lol. I'll start with that, I'll start with trying to keep one thought at a time and then try to empty them all out. lol.

Side note for Regnad and anyone who cares about my poor balls:

I'm working again. The thought of spanking my friend did it for me (inadvertently terned myself on while E-mailing her...I must have been a fucking switch in a previous life lol). I think, most of the time, it's not physically that's the problem just mentally...mentally the pain is still there. lol.

Actually, the goal is to live every moment here and now, in the moment.  Meditation is just practice to get there.  That same Monk wrote another book I enjoyed called, "Peace is Every Step".

Life is to short to worry about every little thing day in and day out. I find when I need to meditate going out to the wood`s and walking alittle then finding a good place to set put`s me in the mood to meditate. I can loose track of time and place for hour`s. Only the sounds of the wood and animal`s is cool like a summer breeze. *YEA BABY* ;D

Life is too short to not experience it fully, all the ups/downs, ALL of life.  I believe we need to pay attention to everything, here...now...

The woods are great!  But, they're easy.  Try experiencing the "now" in traffic, when you're late for an appointment.  ;)

I`m glad to see people think like me. Sometimes I think I`m the odd man out because I can look over alot of thing`s other people would go awol over. But as I alway`s say *LIFE IS TO SHORT TO WORRY ABOUT EVERY LITTLE THING*  Lighten up there`s alway`s something good about every day if you look for it.   :D   ;D    8)
