Colours have definite psychological effects.  The colour of your clothes sets the theme for what you have to say - or express.

A boss who had to tell a worker he was going to lose his job would be wise to wear a pink-hued shirt.  This 'softens' the message. 

I can't remember all the details right now.  But I was interested in the psychology of colours some years back and read a book or three about it.  Pink was a very useful colour in gaining empathy.

Wow, you wouldn't see an old Granny like that in Seattle.  Then again, our reputation is that we're extremely polite.  We're not really, we just have no balls.  Unlike New Yorkers, we talk behind your back rather than say what we really think to your face.  There are a bunch of passive aggressive people who live here.
