If anyone is interested in exchanging healthy recipes, like raw foods, cooking tips, tricks and such, that is what this is for.

I make my own honey mustard dressing all the time.  Since I use raw honey, I've always had a hard time really blending the ingredients, even with a whisk.  My boyfriend puts it on the stove while the other food is cooking to warm it up.  But, why buy raw honey when you're just going to cook it later?  I found the key though. :D  Raw organic apple cider vinegar.  It breaks up the honey and mustard so I can blend it all together.

Recipe (I don't really measure any of this):

equal parts raw honey and organic mustard
some apple cider vinegar to break up the honey
organic olive oil, enough to make it liquidish (I know, not a word, but if Shakespeare could make up words, so can I :P)

optional:
hemp or flax seed oil

Oh, and if you get the raw organic apple cider vinegar, you can use some of that mother to brew your own vinegar too.  It's really easy if you have a juicer or an apple press.  It's kinda fun too :)

sounds like a nice dressing Daytripper.

I love all the different vinegars available for dressings, and how they work breaking down things, such as organic honey.

I'm not much of a "chef", but I love playing with food..and love getting ideas from others as well.

tried this one the other day on a spinach salad I had made for my daughter and I... with thin slices of strawberry,as well as thin slices of apple/pear friut, thin strips of red onion, and some crushed nuts of any kind if wanted.,,as well as seeds.

The dressing is key...  virgin olive oil ,red wine vinegar, 2tbls of honey, Cinnamon and Clove powder to taste....fresh ground Ginger.
(whisk^ together pour over salad^^very nice festive flavoured dressing< ;D )

Nice thread idea Day_tripper,and thanks for the honey mustard recipe
