This is getting ridiculous now. I just saw this on the UKIP website ( Link):

Quote
A statement released by the EU says that UK regulator (the FSA) or the Bank of England would 'act as agents of the EU authority ' meaning that the EU would set the rules and expect the FSA or Bank of England to merely enforce them.

and that very clearly goes against something I've posted before on here:

Quote
And I do declare that no foreign prince, person, prelate, state or potentate hath or ought to have any jurisdiction, power, superiority, pre-eminence or authority, ecclesiastical or spiritual, within this realm. So help me God

The English Bill of Rights clearly states that what the EU is asking for is Illegal.

Now that the election is over with and UKIP sadly didn't win any seats I'm going to be following that up more now. :D

Our Bill of Rights, on this side of the pond, ;) :D agrees that WE AS HUMANS ARE BORN WITH RIGHTS.  It doesn't have to be written down or "allowed".

Lashy!  Oh GOD!  (Im just drunk, like Nixon.;))

The Declaration of Independence is NOT a contract!  It is a DECLARATION!  Lashy, I support you and your Kin to DECLARE!!  Nudge nudge...hint hint ;)

Ugh, insert Monty Python.

This isn't from the EU directly but it probably is from them in one way or another and its very intresting anyway:

Every family in the country should welcome health inspectors round to check that their home is safe for their children to live in, according to guidance released yesterday by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE).

Professor Mike Kelly, director of NICE’s Centre for Public Health Excellence, says the state has a duty to prevent children from hurting themselves.

WTF????!!!!

You can come in my house if you can get past my gun.  Otherwise, you're trespassing and a threat to me and my family.  That gives me the Right and the Law to shoot to kill if you don't voluntarily leave.

Dude, do something.  Help to plug the damn hole.  When your government does shit like this, it always seems to travel over here.  I don't want to have to use my gun to back my words.  But...

It's like England and the UK are test realms for crap like the red lights cameras, invasion of privacy, etc.  We need you guys to help stand up against it.  That would help us over here to fight against this before it comes down to guns.  I don't want that!  No gun owner I know wants that.  I'd really hate to take another life in self defense.  I'd rather use a gun for target practice and to prevent harm.

Dude, do something.

Calm down dear...I joined UKIP the other day, as a free member, and when they send an E-mail telling me when the next meeting is I'll go to that and raise this issue. I'm going to make a list of things I'm going to ask...I'll post it later tonight or tomorrow afternoon if I have time. ;D It's going to be a long list I think. lol.

We are a test ground for bad things though and I'm not sure why. I think it's a combination of things. I think it's because we're a small, densely packed island where people think of themselves as an island surrounded by a moat.

Well....you idiots already gave your guns away! :( :(  :'(

Maybe not you specifically, but your parents!

What is the UKIP?

I went to a democrats meeting.  I'm considering...running as a democrat.  See, all politicians have to swear an oath to our Constitution, that includes dems.  Now...what if....dems start standing up for the Republic and the Constitution? ;)  Just a little thought I had ;).

UK independence party. The Political Party Nigel Farage used to be Leader of. ;D There the good guys who want to take us out of the EU.

Yeah that wasn't our best day. We can still have rifles (including military grade Snipers Rifles oddly) and shot guns but we can't have hand guns for some reason. That is absolutely something I'll bring up at the UKIP meeting.

We gave our hand guns away in 1997 or 1998 a few weeks after a school shooting in Scotland. It was the worst thing they've ever done. Since then Crime has risen hugely and violent crime and crimes with a weapon has almost trebled I think (it's doubled at least). There was a video on here about Switzerland and how they have very little crime because everybody has a gun.

We have a very odd country in some respects. Our police aren't armed, armed police is the opposite of what Robert Peel wanted (the Prime Minister who started the Police, hence why they were called Bobbies). He wanted the police to stop crime but, more importantly, he wanted them to serve the people. Because our police aren't armed it was down to us to carry guns, which is how it should be, and now because they've stopped us carrying guns the only people who have them are the criminals...and the basic idea of being a criminal is that you don't care if you break the law so why the fuck did people thing banning guns would make it harder for Criminals to get them.

That way of thinking reminds me of the Monty python sketch...the "non-illegal Bank Robbery". lol.

Ooooh, cool.  You know I have a secret crush on Nigel.  ;)

There is a great book about guns/crime.  It's called "More Guns Less Crime" by John Lott. http://www.amazon.com/More-Guns-Less-Crime-Understanding/dp/0226493636

I gave a copy to a friend, its still on her book shelf, she has refused to read it. :(  Basically, Lott ran around and compared gun laws in different US cities and crime rates.  The cities with the biggest crimes, like New York, Detroit, DC, LA, Chicago, etc. have the hardest time trying to legally carry a gun.  He portrays other communities where guns are required and the crime is next to nothing.  Now, the argument could be made that the difference is due to population.  But, I think that argument is about to get shot down with this new Arizona law that doesn't require a permit to CLOSED carry.  Let's watch Phoenix's crime rate decrease dramatically.  When Florida loosened up their gun laws crime decreased.  This is going to be interesting to watch Arizona.

I even heard another theory today about how localities with looser gun laws seem to have lower taxes.  I found that one intriguing and need to research it.  It would make sense since commies and socialists hate guns.
