So, here is the update of my garden.

My pepper plant still has the same pepper on it that I bought it with.  It isn't doing well.  If I do peppers again next year, I'll start them at my place inside before I move them to my boyfriends place.  The tomato I bought at the same time has gone crazy.  There are lot's of green little tomatoes waiting to turn read.  I planted it too close to the nitrogen fixing plants, beans and peas.  The fruit is also weighing down the sticks that I was trying to keep it up with.  I have heirloom tomatoes in the fridge that I'm going to get seeds from and start them at my place to transplant out to the woods later, in the early Spring.  From the Farmers Almanac they said that to save tomato seeds, take them, put them in a bucket with water for a few days.  Take the seeds from the bottom, dry them, and then plant them later.

We've been able to supplement our salads with fresh pickings from the mixed greens in the garden.  They're still doing well.  Many have gone to seed.  I've started a new batch of seeds, just to see how well they actually do in frost.  The green beans have given us a few meals, though I didn't know that purple heirloom beans turned green after you cooked them.  :D

The slugs have still been my worst enemy.  I did the eggshells, the coffee grounds, the beer and the copper.  None of it worked for me.  I tried to be humane!  But, then they started breeding in my garden.  I started finding baby slugs!  That's it!  Game on!  I have had to resort to the old fashioned salt. :(  They have murdered my baby little plants when they get their first leaves.  The bigger plants are hardy enough to withstand them, but not the freshly sprouted plants.

I still hear that this is now the time of year that my next enemy is going to be the deer.  I guess I've got to try a few things to discourage them.  For the moment I have lavender, and a couple of mints leading to the trail that animals come up.  There is also a barky dog on the property.  We'll see how that all works.

In the end, this has just been an experiment.  I've learned a lot.  Hopefully next year I can get more food from the garden.

Well...it was good and bad.

I finally got my land, I started to work on it for a week or so (which is where I've been) and then one day last week I was on my land and someone turned up claiming her Son owned it the problem is the person who we think (hopes) owns it is on holiday for the next two weeks so I can't get back on it at all until they sort this mess out, which might be a long time. :( I get a very distinct feeling my life is bound to be this way for ever. :( I was so excited to get the land as well because I thought "its finally getting back on track" and now it's been knocked off again and this time I can't do anything about it until the two people who claim they own it manage to sort it out between themselves. :( I'm stuck in the middle of a huge mess.

Ugh, that sounds like a real pain in the butt.  Don't you have some sort of paper work on it?

Then again, you could just move to Palestine, claim to be Jewish, and steal the existing Palestinians farms.  It seems our countries support that.  I'm joking of course...

Isn't property ownership public information?  What I mean is, in the US we can look up addresses and tax records for any address.  We can find who owns it from tax records.  It can even be found online.  Doesn't your local government keep records like that for property ownership too?

Yes it is but the problem is I can't find the address so I can't look it up. I have to wait until the guy we hope owns it gets back next week before we can find the address and look into who owns it properly.

Can you look it up by his name?  Possibly contact your local government and ask them if he is the real property owner?
