My Answer to the 2010 Census
« on: June 17, 2010, 07:35:41 PM »

So, I had a census worker ring my doorbell today.  She asked how many people live here, and I told her honestly 1.  Then she wanted me to fill out some paperwork with my name and such.  I informed her she didn't need that information.  I asked her if she had to swear an oath to uphold the Constitution, and she said yes.  I then asked if she had read it, and she said yes.  So, I explained that the only reason for the census was to determine the number of representatives an area gets in the house of representatives, since she was familiar with the Constitution she obviously knew this.

She tried to explain to me that it wasn't her who was asking and that all the information was "confidential".  I said I understand that, but she only needed to know how many people live here and that I wasn't going to give any more information.  She also mentioned something about "law 17".  I don't know what that is and need to remember to research it.

Before leaving she asked if I rented or owned.  Again, I had to inform her that that information had nothing to do with how many reps WA state gets in the house.  She also had an accent...hummm...I'm guessing she was from a country south of the US, but I didn't ask.  I also highly doubt that she has ever read the Constitution and just swore an oath to it ignorantly.

Remember, everyone in a federal job is required to swear to uphold the Constitution, from Postal workers, to census workers, etc.  The Constitution is both a weapon and a shield.  The bad guys are very scared of it.  We need to stand up for it every chance we get.  Today I got to do just that.  ;D

My Answer to the 2010 Census
« Reply #1 on: June 17, 2010, 07:46:30 PM »

I found this on wiki:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Community_Survey

Quote
The Department of Commerce has stated that those who receive a survey form are required to provide answers to a list of questions about themselves and their households, including their profession, how much money they earn, their source of health insurance, their preferred mode of transportation to and from work, and the amount of money they pay for housing and utilities. Those who decline to answer these questions may receive follow-up phone calls and/or visits to their homes from Census Bureau personnel. The Census Bureau prefers to gain cooperation by convincing respondents of the importance of participation, therefore, if you don't respond we follow-up with phone calls and/or visits. However, Section 221 of Title 13 U.S.C., makes it a misdemeanor to refuse or willfully neglect to complete the questionnaire or answer questions posed by census takers and imposes a fine of not more than $100. This fine is changed by the Sentencing Reform Act of 1984 from $100 to not more than $5,000. To date, no person has ever been charged with a crime for refusing to answer the ACS survey, which several U.S. Representatives have challenged as unauthorized by the census act and violative of the Right to Financial Privacy Act. The Department of Commerce states that it is "not an enforcement agency."[2]

The processed information will provide annual estimates for all states, as well as all cities, counties, metropolitan areas, and population groups of 65,000 people or more. For smaller areas, the Census Bureau expects useful samples to develop over time: over three years in areas with 20,000 to 65,000 people, and five years in areas with fewer than 20,000 people. The next scheduled release of ACS data are (tentatively) 1-year estimates - September, 2010, 3-year and 5-year estimates - late 2010. The quality of these samples is expected to match that of the decennial census. However, the small area and sub-group sample is not anticipated to be benchmarked to the 2010 Census short form for cities and smaller areas, but instead to total population estimates at the county level. This will create large differences in basic count 2010 ACS estimates and the 100% 2010 United States Census counts for cities and sub-areas, and for all sub-groups (ethnic, age...) within the county.

What in the hell does the department of commerce have to do with the Constitution and the reason for the census?

It must have been Title 13.

Thanks for the post. My condolences on your misfortune on having to deal with your misguided Drone today. Having been out of work for a prolonged period myself I have some understanding of the need for a job but even I have my limits. In searching for the "Law 17" she spoke of I came across two possibilities one being scarier than the next.
The first is by Robert Greene and Joost Elffers from "The 48 Laws of Power"

                                       Law 17

Keep Others in Suspended Terror: Cultivate an Air of Unpredictability

Humans are creatures of habit with an insatiable need to see familiarity in other people’s actions.  Your predictability gives them a sense of control.  Turn the tables: Be deliberately unpredictable.  Behavior that seems to have no consistency or purpose will keep them off-balance, and they will wear themselves out trying to explain your moves.  Taken to an extreme, this strategy can intimidate and terrorize.

The second perhaps even worse being the "LAW-17 LASER for CALICO 9mm"

Of course I don't mean to make light of your situation, I've read parts of Title 13 and it makes my head spin. I can't believe they still have language in there about "Cotton Ginners" I suppose they leave it that way to keep people like myself confused.
If there is anyway that I can provide backing for you let me know, I'm decent at research and pretty dogged when it comes to helping someone. :)

Hey 4Etznab, it was a friendly conversation.  She was just doing her job.  I am probably wrong about which law number she stated.  But, even after reading about the law about the census, there is nothing there that requires me to give my name or if I rent or own.  Besides, so long as there are property taxes, no American will be allowed to "own" property.

According to wiki, it was the census that gave the government the information about where the Japanese-Americans lived so they could later be rounded up during WWII.  This year, IBM contributed to the census.  They were the same corporation who rounded up the Jews in WWII.  Hell, I may have done myself a disservice by quoting the Constitution.  Now that they know that I support the Constitution, they know where I live.  We'll be the next ones to be rounded up.

I just got my box of Constitutions today.  I wish I had had them yesterday so I could have given her one.  I highly doubt she has really ever read it.  Plus, this one has the Declaration of Independence, the communist manifesto (which is what our illegal government follows) and the Bill of Rights.  I ordered it from Alex Jone's infowars.com.  It's a little to Christian for my taste, it also has the Christian 10 commandments.

I kind of thought Chris had it right.
Just a little levity to relieve an oppressive situation.

Harriet Tubman lived here in Auburn (She, to me, was one of this country's greatest hero's) we still have a great deal of the underground railroad accessible to us today in this area. So if you require any assistance running from the feds let me know.

I was sure that your conversation with this person was kept at a respectful level. From what I have seen, you seem to maintain your composure well when attempts are made at pushing your buttons. No offense meant to anyone. :)

4Etznab, that was a cute video, thanks.  :D  It made me chuckle a few times.

I looked up Harriet Tubman and read a bit about her.  She was a very courageous woman.  I have no clue if I could have done what she did.  When I was a kid and learned about the underground railroad I wanted to believe that I would have been part of it, but I wasn't there so I don't know if I'd be brave enough to risk my life.  As far as the underground railroad, I live on the West coast.  We never dealt with that whole slavery thing out here.  Hell, there were a lot of escaped slaves who were cowboys and gold minors.  Back in those days, people didn't really care where you were from, just don't screw anyone over.  We never needed an underground railroad.  But, I do know people and areas where people are awake and watching the feds.

When I mentioned the round up of constitutionalists to my boyfriend he said, "no, they'll come for the registered gun owners first".  I think he has a point.  All tyrannies come for the guns just before they mass murder.

Thank you for that.  ;D This is a mellow website with friendly discussions.  I like that and hope this place stays like that.  So, I too am mellow here.  Elsewhere, I do know how to push people's buttons and sometimes let them push mine.  I've had years learning how to deal with assholes, but haven't we all? ;)

Nope, not trying to push any buttons there.  Lincoln was a jerk.  He was a complete racist and the "civil" war was never about freeing slaves.  Prior to the war states like Virginia had already outlawed the practice.  Economically slavery was dying.  There was a new wave of immigrants from Ireland and Italy that were working for much cheaper.  Their employers didn't have to feed, shelter, and clothe them.

Besides, why doesn't anyone talk about the Irish slaves?  What about the American Indian slaves?  Not all slaves were from Africa.

The fascist/commie history books have painted Lincoln with a beautiful stroke.  Unfortunately, most of that is lies.  Just like Ben Franklin didn't do the kite thing, George Washington didn't chop down the cherry tree, Edison didn't discover electricity,  Columbus didn't discover America, Lincoln didn't free the slaves.

Hell, I'd take Nixon over Lincoln any day.  And they were both republicans.  As a matter of fact, I believe Lincoln was the first Republican and had a democrat vice president.

Oh, and why don't "progressives" like Nixon?  He ended the Vietnam war, increased government, started the war on cancer and the war on drugs.  Didn't he actually do what people like you wanted him to do?  More government?  Now that is a button press. ;)

I know, I know Lashy, don't feed the trolls.  :D

Alright troll,

You mentioned Johnson, one of the worst presidents of the 20th century.  He is the reason for mass murder.

Who did Nixon murder?

oh wait, that was the zionazi kissenger.  Nixon had issues, but I believe he was a poor boy done good.  Unlike the majority of presidents of the 20th century.  My favorite President of the 20th century was Ike.

I, personally, don't follow the larushies...I don't do cults.  Obviously you do. ;)
