Down with Monsanto!!!
I second that!
You know, I do see a ray of light at the end of the tunnel. Last weekend my boyfriend and I were at a store in a small town. We were about to boat down a river and needed some snacks. On the chip aisle I was picking up bags and reading the ingredients. I kept putting them back saying "nope, that has gmo corn oil", or "nope that has gmo canola", or "nope that has gmo soy oil". I knew he was getting frustrated with me, and he said, "well it all does". Then, along comes a lady who is also reading ingredients.

She asked if I was looking to avoid corn (I believe, if I remember correctly). I said that I was looking to avoid gmo and that if it's corn, soy or rapeseed (AKA canola) it is gmo. She just shook her head negatively. She was obviously educating herself!
I believe it's these little things that we do on a daily basis that can really affect change. I mean, that lady was actually reading labels! She was taking an interest in what she was eating! That is a start.
What I chose to buy was locally grown raw almonds and raw cashews.

Along with a bit of local fruit (not organic unfortunately). It was a nice little boating experience. We were styling in a paddle boat with a small canopy while most others were in blow up boats. We had the Cadillac of the river.

I also gave out another Constitution this weekend to a buddy of my boyfriend. He didn't have a copy on him. I will probably go to Hempfest tomorrow, which reminds me, I need to bring a bunch of Constitutions with me. Then again, that's like preaching to the converted.
Lashy, I'll tell you what, just start talking. It seems that everywhere I go, people know a little bit or segment of what is going on. They want to learn more...to a point...then they get overwhelmed again. Just talk, then shut up when they can't handle more. People like us, on sites like this, are almost numb to it. It is the "normal" ones we have to help. I don't know what your wakeup call was. But, I remember when it hit me, it was overwhelming. I though, "oh shit! It's real!"...Most people can't deal with that kind of wake up call.
BTW, how is the garden thing? Oh, I need to post about mine.
