As the 2007-08 presidential campaign cycle offered up the usual slate of Washington insiders, Ron Paul, an obscure Congressman from Texas brought an alternative voice that challenged the political establishment.

Advocating a philosophy of sound money, a non-interventionist foreign policy, strict Constitutionalism, and individual liberty, Dr. Paul inspired a unique grassroots movement unmatched in American history - the repercussions of which continue to reverberate today and into the future of the American psyche.

For Liberty: How the Ron Paul Revolution Watered the Withered Tree of Liberty follows this historic campaign from the perspective of grassroots activists, and showcases the unique, often bizarre, yet groundbreaking projects they undertook as they brushed aside traditional campaign methodology.

In the beginning of this there is a clip of one of Barry's speeches.  He says that the people will "select" the next president.  I found that a very interesting choice for a word.  We know the puppets like him are selected, but most candidates would have used the word "elect" not "select".  Freudian slip?  I don't know, it's just one of those things that make me go huh...

I'm still watching it.  But, in the mean time, I found this.  8)

I just got up to that part and instantly it hit me. I wonder how many people in the audience noticed it.

Easily one of the best videos I've watched in ages. I really enjoyed that and its re-lit my spark. :D I first hear of Ron back in 2007 I think, it was certainly before he ran for President, and it was before I understood anything about the Fed. Reserve or anything at all about politics as most people would see them. He's one of the few politicians I respect and even though I'm still further to the right than he is I would gladly vote for him if I could.

What is this, "further to the right" phrase mean?

I have to admit, it sounds dumb, but this documentary brought a tear to my eye.  I get emotional when it comes to political subjects.  When I've gone to peace marches it's been hard for me to fight back the tears, just because it is so emotional for me.  Maybe it's just that there is so much energy at protests.  There are the people marching for peace and the war mongers flipping us off.  ;D  It's funny how threatened people feel from a bunch of peaceniks.  This film shows how far people are willing to go to support the ideals of Ron Paul.  It's a pretty heavy thought really.

I get that way too. :D And I meant "further to the right" as in he wants smaller government whereas I want none...it depends on my day. lol. Most days I want his level of government or a little smaller, other days I want none at all. lol.

Some might call that "far left".

Myself I'm sort of an anarcho-libertarian.  Some government is necessary.  But, for the most part government is irrelevant and needs us more than we need them.  They just keep propagandizing how necessary they are and the sheeple believe it.
